A Moment of Quiet Sustenance

The woman lies on her side, a heavy stillness settling over her form. In her arms, a small child rests, seeking nourishment. This act of nursing becomes the center of a crowded world. Around them, figures move through the scene; some sit in repose while others stand, their presence woven into the edges of the composition. Birds drift through the air, punctuating the space with sudden, dark shapes. A few apples rest nearby, heavy and round.

The Language of Memory and Form
