A Life Shaped by Concrete and Creativity Alžbeta Majerníková grew up amidst the vast, grey expanses of Petržalka, a massive housing estate in Bratislava. This landscape of socialist-era architecture, often described as a concrete jungle, left a deep imprint on her soul. She learned early on that beauty could be found even in the most overlooked or harsh environments. This perspective guided her hands as she moved from the School of Art
s and Crafts in Kremnica to the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. Her path was one of constant movement and learning. She sought knowledge far beyond her home borders, traveling to the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom to study glass and ceramics, and later to Germany to master the delicate art of gemstone cutting. These international experiences allowed her to bring a global sensibility back to her studio. S…
