The Life and Art of Narritjin Maymuru

Narritjin Maymuru was a Yolngu artist and activist from the Manggalili language group in North-East Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, Australia. Belonging to the Yirritja moiety, he was a multifaceted figure who served as a ceremonial leader, clan head, philosopher, and mediator. His artistic journey began in the 1940s following a period working as a cook.
