Antoine-Sébastien Durand or Durant was a French silversmith born in Paris in 1712 and died in 1787. He was the father of the painter Pierrette-Madeleine-Cécile Durand, later Gros. Durand was a master silversmith and was received as a master in 1735. He was known for his high-quality work and was a member of the guild of goldsmiths and jewelers of Paris. He specialized in the production of silverware, including mustard pots, and was one of the most renowned silversmiths of his time in France.
