Biography:
François Joseph Corneille Haseleer was a Belgian painter born in Bruges in 1804 and died in 1890. He was a pupil of Joseph Paelinck and François-Joseph Navez. He was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bruges from 1835 to 1869. He specialized in historical and religious subjects, as well as portraits. He is known for his precise and detailed technique. His works are part of the collections of several museums, including the Museum of Fine Arts in Ghent and the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium in Brussels.
