Robert Cleon Spiess, also known as Robert Spies, was a German tennis player and painter born on February 17, 1891, in Solotvyno, Ukraine. He died on October 22, 1982. Spiess competed in two events at the 1912 Summer Olympics in Sweden and was a quarter finalist in the men's doubles at the 1914 Wimbledon Championships partnered with Luis Maria Heyden.
