En 1883 William Morris emprendió su proyecto de mayor ambición en el diseño textil; una serie de patrones suavemente fluyentes inspirados en los afluentes del Támesis. El patrón de ‘Evenlode’ es parte de esta serie que también incluyó ‘Cray’, ‘Kennet’, ‘Wey’, ‘Wandle’, ‘Windrush’ y ‘Medway’.
