The Life and Training of Jan van Dalen
Jan van Dalen was a Flemish painter active in Antwerp during the mid-17th century. His life remains somewhat mysterious, as very little is known about his personal history. He is believed to have trained in Rome around 1630, a period during which he likely produced works such as Woman holding an Egg and Boy holding a Glass, which were signed and dated 1631.
