His journey was one of relentless experimentation, driven by an intrinsic need to explore the fundamental elements of line, space, light, and color. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Childs’s early life offered little indication of the artistic path he would
forge. He initially studied at the University of Pennsylvania before gravitating towards The Art Students League in New York City, where Kimon Nicolaïdes' emphasis on drawing from life proved formative.
