His artistic education began at Hunter College during a pivotal moment in art history when influential New York artists were actively reshaping American art pedagogy. Recognizing the transformative power of mentorship, he benefited immensely from guidance provided by luminaries like Tony Smith and Robert Morris—artists who championed abstraction and explored psychological landscapes—influences that profoundly shaped Zibeon’s artistic worldview. These relationships instilled within him a deep appreciation for geometric forms and a commitment to conveying emotion through visual language.
Zibeon's artistic output consistently centers around the captivating beauty of aquatic environments – rivers, lakes, and oceans – rendered with unparalleled delicacy and precision. He achieves this breathtaking effect through meticulous watercolor technique—a process involving careful layering and blending of pigments to create shimmering surfaces that exquisitely capture the subtle nuances of light and color. This masterful approach isn’t merely a stylistic choice; it's an intentional reflection of Zibeon’s belief in art as a conduit for contemplation and immersion in the sublime grandeur of the natural world. The recurring motif of stylized masks—often rendered in muted hues—adds another layer of symbolic depth to his work, representing introspection and transformation – a deliberate homage to Surrealist artistic traditions.
