Hassan Sharif Al-Mansoori’s artistic journey began in Dubai, where he honed his skills as a draftsman during his formative years at Al Sha’ab School. Early on, he rejected calligraphic abstraction and Arab Nationalism—dominant discourses of the time—as well as the “negative irony” of his initial caricatures. Influenced by Dada and Fluxus art, Sharif embraced experimental practices that challenged artistic conventions and pushed boundaries. His fascination with Kenneth Martin's concept of "chance and order"—particularly in British Constructivism—became a cornerstone of his approach to artmaking.
