Biografi:
Vicente Gutiérrez de los Ríos y Gálvez was born in Córdoba, Spain in 1732. He was a Spanish military officer and Cervantist. He was the III Marquis of Escalonias, a title he inherited from his father. He was a member of the Royal Spanish Academy and participated in the project for a standard edition of Don Quixote in 1773. He was also a writer, editor, professor, latinist, translator, and linguist. He died in Madrid in 1779.
