Pubblicato da Uoya Eikichi nel 1856–58, One Hundred Famous Views of Edo si rivelò immensamente popolare, e per soddisfare la domanda è stata assemblata un'edizione deluxe. Questa tavola decorativa dei contenuti fu pubblicata nel 1858, dopo il completamento delle singole stampe della serie deluxe. Dal momento che Hiroshige morì all'inizio di quell'anno, la serie molto probabilmente era stata costretta a una chiusura prematura. Baisotei Gengyo (1817-1880), artista meglio conosciuto per le sue giacche decorative, è stato scelto per creare questa tavola di contenuti.
