Clarissa Strozzi fu figlia di Roberto Strozzi e Maddalena dei Medici, che visse in esilio a Venezia dal 1540 al 1542. Insieme al ritratto di Ranuccio Farnese, questo dipinto è il secondo incantevole ritratto del bambino Tiziano dipinto nel 1542. Clarissa sta dando da mangiare al suo cane, ma, come Ranuccio, sta guardando qualcosa che si svolge fuori dalla foto. Questo crea ancora una volta un vivido senso di movimento. I putti sul rilievo sottolineano la vitalità infantile di Clarissa.
