Questa è una delle sei immagini che Sickert dipinse di due belgi, Jeanne e Hélène Daurmont, durante la vacanza di Pasqua nel 1906. Jeanne, una fresatrice, ha poi ricordato che lei e sua sorella, una donna di beneficenza, avevano incontrato l'artista a Londra quando li ha sentiti parlare con un poliziotto in francese. La tavolozza sottodotta, contorni smussati e approccio diretto al modello anticipano lo stile Camden Town successivo, per il quale è meglio conosciuto. A Pasqua 1906 Sickert inviò il suo amico Mrs. George Swinton diverse cartoline con schizzi di dipinti su cui stava lavorando. Uno di loro raffigura questa immagine ed è inscritto: Lunedì di Pasqua No.1. Jeanne (collezione privata).
