il barocco artista Rembrandt Furgone Rijn aveva dipinto molti scene da Bibbia . Nella sua self-portraits , lui aveva raffigurato se stesso come un viziato bambino e quindi sembra decente che dipinto il il ritorno del figliol prodigo verso l fine di la sua vita . L immagine spettacoli il padre e il figlio in espressivo luce , e ogni cosa al di là di loro svanisce a nero . Il solo evidente figura è l father’s sambuco figlio , sulla destra , le sue mani attraversato in giudizio . La storia di il figliol prodigo dice il racconto di un viziato figlio che piste lontano con la sua eredità e spende tutto su mondano piaceri solo per esso correre out e avere la sua stato ridotto ad una porco pastore . Nella vergogna , lui ritorna al suo padre . Rembrandt raffigura il figlio come calvo e in cencioso abbigliamento , in ginocchio mentre l padre è vestito nella ricchezza e la sua mani su sua son’s le spalle e ritorno , la sinistra la mano sembra essere più grande e più maschio ed è posto su la spalla mentre l a destra a mano è più piccola , più femminile ed è posto su il retro , un altro ricettiva gesto . Rembrandt aveva dipinto e abbozzato altre immagini ispirato questa parabola .
