poco dopo monet si trasferì ad argenteuil , comprò una barca e la convertì in uno studio galleggiante . Lo tenne ormeggiato vicino a casa sua e lo usò per ottenere una vista della riva del fiume dall'acqua . Come visto qui , lo dipinse anche dalla riva per studiare gli effetti dell'ombra e del riflesso a distanza .
