Born in the industrial heart of Ladywood, Birmingham, Edwin Harris began his artistic journey not with grand ambitions of mythic landscapes, but with a disciplined eye for the tangible world. This period of intense study was further enriched in 1880 when he traveled to Verlat's Academy in Antwerp.
