Amin Aghaei: A Voice of Displacement and Memory Amin Aghaei (born 24 April 1982 in Isfahan, Iran) is an Iranian painter and sculptor whose artistic journey reflects profound experiences rooted in displacement and a deep engagement with cultural identity. Born amidst the upheaval of the Iran-Iraq War – he was supposed to be born in Khorramshahr but the beginning of the war forced him to be born in IDPs camps – Aghaei’s formative years i
nstilled within him an awareness of fragility and resilience, themes that permeate his oeuvre. He pursued formal artistic training at Tehran Art University, honing his skills before transitioning into a prolific career as a cartoonist, demonstrating versatility across mediums and perspectives.
