ell-known Mannerist painter. Brother: Francesco Longhi (1544–1618), also a painter. Barbara received her artistic education from her father, Luca Longhi, and was actively involved in his workshop. She assisted with large altarpieces and often modeled for his paintings, including appearing as Saint Barbara in his 1570 work, *Virgin and Child Enthroned with Saints*.
