A Life Between Borders Leonida Caldesi arrived in London around 1850, moving through Genoa and Switzerland after leaving Italy. He was part of a larger movement of people seeking refuge during the Risorgimento. His brother, Vincenzo, fought as a colonel for Garibaldi, while Leonida sought a different kind of stability through the lens of a camera.
