Andriy Kotska was a Ukrainian Soviet painter born in Uzhhorod. His formal training began at the public drawing school in Uzhgorod, where he was a pupil of Adalbert Erdeli and Iosif Bokshay. Throughout his career, he was a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine and held significant positions within the Union of Artists of the USSR and the Presidium of the Board of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR. He was honored as an Art Worker of the Ukrainian SSR and a People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR.
