The figure of the Saint Peter as Papal prototype in the center of the room, with a compact and heavy mass, even if animated by a dense late Gothic drapery, is part of a group of works associated with the activity of Bartolomeo Giolfino, an important figure of sculptor of the 15th century in Verona, progenitor of a dynasty of stonemasons and engravers active also in the following century, from which will come a painter of great quality, Nicola Giolfino. In this work, datable to around the middle of the century, the artist reveals a broad and confident language, probably based on contemporary Venetian models.
