Pavel Bucur: Sculptor of Romanian Myth and Monumental Form Pavel Bucur (1945 – 2016) emerged from Bistrița, Romania, as a sculptor whose artistic vision fused Romanian folklore with the grandeur of monumental sculpture. His formative years were marked by studies at the Institute of Fine Arts ‘Nicolae Grigorescu’ in Bucharest (1965-1971), where he honed his skills and gained invaluable experience within the Romanian art scene. ship from the Ion Andreescu Institute further propelled his artistic pursuits, establishing him as a significant voice in contemporary Romanian sculpture.
