Friedrich Gotthelf Baumgärtner was a German jurist, bookseller, publisher, and playing-card manufacturer, located in Leipzig. He was born on September 15, 1759, in Schneeberg, Germany, and died on November 29, 1843, in Leipzig. Baumgärtner was the founder of a publishing house and bookselling business in Leipzig, which became a follower of the Schladebachschen Buchhandlung established by Johann Christian Friedrich Hölder. He was also known for his contributions to gardening literature, including the publication of 'Neue Gartenbaukunst oder Sammlung neuer Ideen' and 'Ideenmagazin fur Liebhaber von Gärten'.
