Iakov Afanassiev is a Russian artist born in Moscow in 1947. He is known for his fine art of portraiture, particularly of human faces. Afanassiev's work has been exhibited at The Leyton Gallery and offered for sale at Sotheby's. He has also provided an artist's statement for The Leyton Gallery. Afanassiev's paintings have been auctioned multiple times, with some of his notable works including 'Portrait of Nina von Andreevsky and a child' (1906, photograph).
