Jacques Ignatius de Roore or Jacobus Ignatius de Roore (Antwerp, 20 July 1686 – The Hague, 17 July 1747) was a Flemish painter, copyist, art dealer and art collector who worked in the Southern Netherlands and the Dutch Republic. He painted mainly historical subjects and portraits. He was best known for his decorative ceiling and wall paintings and a master of the grisaille technique. He was born in Antwerp in 1686 as the son of Erik de Roore, a dealer in paintings and antiques, and Anna Maria van der Haegen, the daughter of a painter. He started his training as a painter with the Antwerp painter Jan Baptist van der Meiren. He continued his studies in Paris and Rome. In 1719 he travelled to Italy, visiting Bologna, Venice, and Rome. He taught English lessons on the side and is known for wall & ceiling decorations. In 1775 he sold his collection of 136 paintings and moved to London with his elderly sister.
