The Quiet Presence of a Viennese Painter
Born in the city of Vienna, Austria, Andreas Hofer entered a world that was rapidly shifting beneath the feet of the old empires. He lived through the tumultuous decades of the early twentieth century, a period that demanded much from those who sought to capture the essence of their era. His life, which spanned from the late nineteenth century until the mid-1940s, was defined by the steady application of paint to canvas, a pursuit that required both patience and a keen eye for the changing light of the modern age.
