Pietro Roi (1819-1896) wurde in der Provinz Vicenza geboren und an der Akademie der Schönen Künste Venedigs ausgebildet und reifte seinen Stil durch häufige in Rom die neoklassizistischen und romantischen Künstler Tommaso Minardi und Nicola Consoni und den Nazarener Maler Johann Friedrich Overbeck. Der Vicenza-Künstler entwickelte im Laufe seiner künstlerischen Tätigkeit seinen bildhaften Stil in Kommissionen religiöser Subjekte, historischer Gemälde, Porträts und Landschaften. (
