Piano urbanistico e paesaggistico del Foro Mussolini
Inspired by the architecture of Imperial Rome, the Foro Mussolini was conceived as an area dedicated to sport, designed to serve as a backdrop to the celebrative events of the Fascist regime. The site was selected by Del Debbio himself, convinced “of the possibility and benefits that arose as a consequence and impeded the destruction of this magnificent area through the creation of a public park for sport linked to the slopes of Monte Mario…”. With this objective in mind, Del Debbio studied a vast urban and landscaping plan for the area that links the forum of sport with the natural setting and the city via a complex system of generating axes used to organise functions, landscaping, areas of rest and architectural spaces.
