As the son of the celebrated landscape painter Bartholomeus Johannes van Hove, his very foundation was built upon the traditions of Dutch mastery. From his father’s studio, he inherited not merely a technical vocabulary but a profound reverence for the natural world and the way sunlight dances across a surface. While his beginnings were rooted in the Romantic ideals of outdoor scenery, Van Hove’s true genius blossomed when he turned his gaze inward.
