Simon Goser was a painter from Germany, born in Bad Wurzach. He was a member of the "zum Riesen" painters' guild in Freiburg and lived in a house on Konviktstraße. His work often involved large-scale commissions, including frescoes and altarpieces. In 1780, he assisted Johann Christian Wentzinger with the decoration of the dome of the St. Blasien Cathedral.
