A Life in Art and Print
Anton Gareis was a German painter, lithographer, and engraver. Born in Klosterfreiheit, Germany, he received his artistic training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden and in Berlin, later studying in Neustadt/Oberschlesien from 1818. His professional journey included working for the publisher J. D.
