Viive Kuks began her formal training in 1966 at the Tallinn School of Light Industry, focusing on the art of textile design . By 1970, she had moved into the specialized study of graphics at the Tallinn Art School. It was here that she studied under Evald Okas , a period that shaped her technical foundation. After receiving her diploma in free graphics in 1976, she chose to settle in Võru. Since that time, she has worked as a freelance artist, finding a rhythm in the landscape and the human form .
