Fabrizio Plessi, born in Reggio Emilia in 1940, stands as a singular figure in the pantheon of contemporary art, recognized for his pioneering exploration of liquid media and immersive installations that fuse sculpture, architecture, and environmental science. Often described as an international pioneer and master of video art, Plessi has spent decades sculpting landscapes that appear to breathe, flow, and pulse with life. His artistic journey began in the fertile intellectual landscape of Bologna University, where he studied architecture alongside influential thinkers.
