The horizontal line of a long and rustic wooden table, on which fruits, objects and vases of flowers are arranged, depicted in the foreground area of the canvas prevails on the whole painting: the vertical thrust is given by the clear background wall in which opens a second room. On the door jamb of the room, soberly furnished, a female, blond-haired, modestly dressed and barefoot figure rests. The artist skillfully and finely describes the fruits of the earth scattered on the table, shells and flowers both fresh and withered arranged in vases of different shapes, sizes and materials. He invites the viewer to enjoy nature, its beauty and the variety of shapes and colors of its products.
