The Life and Artistic Journey of Wilhelm Laage
Born in Stellingen, Germany, Wilhelm Laage began his creative path after working in a brewery and a tavern. His formal training began at the Gewerbeschule Hamburg and continued at the Kunstakademie in Karlsruhe, where he became a master student of Leopold von Kalckreuth. His education furthered at the Kgl. Kunstschule in Stuttgart. During his time in Paris, he worked in an atelier on Rue Leclercs and attended the first major Van-Gogh exhibition at the Galerie Bernheim.
