The Life and Career of Georg Muche
Georg Muche was a German painter, printmaker, architect, author, and teacher. His early art studies began in Munich at the School for Painting and the Graphic Arts, and he later moved to Berlin, where he became associated with Herwarth Walden and the Sturm artist group. He served as the head of the weaving workshop from 1919 to 1925 and directed the preliminary course from 1921 to 1922. As a leading proponent of the Bauhaus architectural group, he was in charge of the 1923 Bauhaus Exhibition and designed the experimental house known as Haus am Horn.
