Born in Madrid, Spain, Rafael Pellicer was raised within a vibrant circle of intellectuals and artists. The son of the writer and poet Julio Pellicer and the pianist Concha Galeote, his upbringing was deeply rooted in both classical and modern sensibilities. He received his artistic training under the guidance of Julio Romero de Torres and the painter Daniel Vázquez Díaz. Artistic Legacy and Travels
Pellicer's artistic journey took him far beyond the borders of Spain. Beyond his studio practice, he held prestigious academic and administrative roles. He served as the Director of the Escuela de Paisajistas de El Paular and was a professor at the Escuela Central de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid. He also held the position of Secretary of the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid and was an academic of painting at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando.
