Diorama:

This small diorama was constructed for the early displays of the U.S. Department of the Interior Museum, which opened to the public in 1938. Set against a mountain backdrop with conifer trees, it depicts two men downhill skiing. While many of the dioramas within the Interior Museum are not ascribed to a single artist, this one is known to have been created by Rosario Russell Fiore (1908-1994). Throughout the 1930s, Fiore worked with the Works Progress Administration and sculpted historical figures for the Smithsonian, the National Park Service and the U.S. Department of the Interior.
