These small, glossy fragments of distant glamour introduce him to a world of dramatic side-lighting and deep, intentional shadows. He watches how hands are posit

By 1940, he withdraws from his studies at the American University in Cairo to pursue photography full-time. The transition from student to apprentice begins at Studio Venus under Arakel Artinian.
