Født: Lucca, Italia (1708)
Død: 1787
Pompeo Batoni flyttet til Roma i 1727.
Han var læregutt hos Agostino Masucci, Sebastiano Conca og/eller Francesco Imperiali.
Hans første uavhengige oppdrag kom som et resultat av regnet som rammet Roma i april 1732.
