Thomas Demand: A Biography Early Life and Education Thomas Cyrill Demand, born in Munich, Germany in 1964, is a prominent German sculptor and photographer. He grew up in West Berlin during a period of significant political and cultural change. His early education laid the foundation for his later artistic explorations. Demand pursued formal training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and subsequently at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. H
