Work Song

Work Song was Wang Wenbin’s graduation work, the piece that made his name. The painting portrays the era candidly, depicting several country girls, placed above the eye level, singing and working together. The dynamic composition, with the subjects standing in a circle and reaching outward, creates an imposing visual effect and gives a sense of upward motion. Under the brilliant sunshine, the girls’ clothes become clear and transparent, and their youthful bodies are outlined with the sun
