Born in The Hague in 1814, Van Hove was an artist shaped by both lineage and light. As the son of the celebrated landscape painter Bartholomeus Johannes van Hove, his very foundation was built upon the traditions of Dutch mastery. From his father’s studio, he inherited not merely a technical vocabulary but a profound reverence for the natural world and the way sunlight dances across a surface.
