Born in Graz, Austria, Ernst Paar was a versatile artist whose career spanned several decades. His early training began with an apprenticeship as a lithographer, a craft he pursued alongside his studies in painting. His education took him from the Landeskunstschule to the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, and later to the Académie Julian in Paris.
