The Artistic Evolution of John Walker

Born in Birmingham, England, John Walker is a painter and printmaker who currently resides in Maine. His early artistic training took place at the Moseley School of Art and the Birmingham School of Art, followed by studies at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris. This period was also notable for the use of canvas collage, a method involving the application of separately painted patches of canvas onto the main canvas. While teaching at the Victoria College of the Arts in Melbourne, he produced the Oceania series, which incorporates elements of native Oceanic art.
