The Ethereal Resonance of Taebok Cho
Born in Seoul, South Korea, the artist Taebok Cho explores the profound boundaries between perception and reality. Known for a deeply contemplative approach to creativity, Cho’s work invites viewers into a sensory space where the tangible meets the intangible. The artist's practice is centered around the evocative concept of m3(the sound in between invisible and visible), a theme that serves as a bridge between the seen world and the unseen vibrations of existence.
The essence of Cho’s artistic vision lies in this delicate equilibrium. By focusing on the liminal space—that quiet, resonant frequency where sound and sight converge—the work challenges the observer to listen with their eyes and see with their ears. This exploration of the m3 concept suggests a world that is not merely composed of solid objects, but of layers of atmosphere and subtle, nearly imperceptible movements that define our experience of reality.
A Journey Through Sound and Sight
In the development of this unique vision, Cho has utilized multidisciplinary approaches to manifest these abstract concepts. A notable milestone in this creative trajectory is the work titled m3(the sound in between invisible and visible), Sound ver., which was presented in 2017. This piece, showcased at the Centro culturel et artistique de l’Asie in Gwangju, exemplifies the artist's ability to translate auditory sensations into a visual or experiential medium.
Through such works, Taebok Cho achieves a significant artistic presence, pushing the boundaries of how we interpret the environment around us. The significance of this work lies in its ability to evoke emotion through the suggestion of what is hidden, making the invisible felt and the silent heard. It remains a profound contribution to contemporary explorations of sensory perception.
