The Sculptural Echoes of Robert Rumas
Born in Kielce, Poland, in 1966, Robert Rumas has emerged as a profound voice in contemporary sculpture, crafting works that do more than occupy space—they interrogate it. His artistic journey began with rigorous formal training at the Stage College of Plastic Arts in Gdańsk, an environment that provided him with the technical mastery of sculpture and the intellectual depth of conceptual art. This dual foundation allowed Rumas to develop a practice that is as much about philosophical inquiry as it is about physical form. From his early exhibitions, it was evident that Rumas was not merely interested in creating objects of beauty, but in using the medium of sculpture to confront societal anxieties and dissect the cultural stereotypes that shape our collective imagination.
