Mark Podwal was an American artist, author, filmmaker, and physician. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Flushing, Queens, he attended Queens College and the New York University Grossman School of Medicine, where he practiced as a dermatologist. His artistic journey began with drawings as a hobby during his early years, eventually leading to his first publications in 1971.
